Private Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet Lessons in Los Angeles: Jazz and Classical
Sharing knowledge, inspiring passion, helping promising musicians develop, and harnessing one’s lifelong appreciation for music.
Whether you are a complete beginner or aspiring professional on the saxophone, flute, or clarinet, I will work to help you find your voice and develop your talent. I specialize in teaching jazz saxophone, but I also perform professionally and have extensive teaching experience on classical sax, flute, clarinet, and composition. Most importantly, whatever your area of focus, we will have fun!

I’m available for in-person lessons in the Los Angeles area or Skype lessons remotely. Group lessons, clinics, and ensemble coaching also available upon request.
With 15 years of sax, flute, and clarinet teaching experience, I have had the joy of working with complete beginners as well as serious, advanced students. I love to make music and to share my passion with my students, and the goal is to inspire that same passion and love for music in those who I teach, all while having a good time!
I have a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Jazz Studies (and Economics), where I also studied extensive classical saxophone with Dr. Fred Hemke. I also pursued post-graduate education at USC, studying under Bob Mintzer. Given my institutionally-honed academic background, helping my students find the spark that inspires them is important, but fundamentals won’t be ignored!
Jazz, classical, rock, funk, R&B, or whatever your style, we can run with it.
